Color: medium brown, orange tint.
Smell: big. Plenty of oak and spice, including big hits of clove, dill, pumpernickel, and leather. Although very spice-driven and racy, there's also some nice barnyard sweetness - sort of a burnt caramel/hay combination.
Taste: big on the palate - no surprise. Although packing a wallop, you can drink this straight...no problem. The primary notes are exactly what you'd expect: burnt caramel sweetness and tons of rye spice, including most prominently (for me) herbaceousness - dill, mint, and even eucalyptus. The finish is strong and lasting, with lots of leather and cloves.Overall: really impressive. Great depth of flavor, yet still smooth sipping. Recommended!
