Color: pale gold
Smell: malty and smooth. Very approachable on the nose with Cheerios, some faint vanilla sweetness, and black pepper. Dig deeper and there's some lemon zest and something floral/fruity like pears.
Taste: what you'd expect on entry - slight cereal sweetness with a hint of vanilla. The midpalate has a little bit of oak and mouth-warming pepper, and then it finishes with some grassiness, lemon zest, and a kiss of vanilla sweetness.
Overall: this is thoroughly enjoyable Scotch in the "B" range. Good but not great, and definitely not bringing the complexity that you'd hope for with a 22 yr age statement (and price tag).
