Glenmorangie Original

Glenmorangie
Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
"The Original"
Ten Years Old
43% ABV (86 proof)
~$40

Color: pale gold

Smell: very light, and subtly floral. Nothing huge jumps out on the nose - it's not like Laphroaig or another smoke/peat bomb where everyone in the room knows you're drinking Scotch. There is a little bit of honey sweetness, as well as faint citrus tea notes of orange and rosehips. There is also a hint of nuttiness.

Taste: honeyed herbal sweetness upfront, and then it gets nuttier on the midpalate with some hazelnuts and almonds. Things continue that way into the medium finish, where toasty oak complements the nutty sweetness.

Overall: I like it, and think it's a solid "B/B+" and a very solid value at about $40. Recommended.
